Editing Blog

Image
The editing process, it was fairly simple. We took all the clips and combined them into an editing machine. After we combined them we put the transitions in the video. We made them look as smooth as possible so it was nice looking to the viewers. We ran into many problems during this process. We had many difficulties that occurred. Most of which were because we are new to the software. I watched many videos on how to use the software. They did a decent job of explaining everything I needed to know for this process. After I learned how to use the software I explained to Will and Jacob how to do it for future reference. I then continued to find an audio file to use for the commercial of the song. When I found the audio I muted the original volume and only played the music volume. I did this because I don't want the viewers to hear the recording of our lips moving. I combined everything and moved on to the publishing process. During this process, I had to publish my video to youtube I...

Storyboard Blog

With this storyboard, we tried to be as thorough as possible. We couldn't mess up here with this being really important. The storyboard is one of the main things we needed for the filming process. We tried to include all of the surroundings we had as much as possible. With the location, we were giving to film. We had permission to film and shoot our music video here. We tried planning everything out how we thought it would go. With the script, we had a very clear idea of what to do with the music video. This was super important for us to follow. we tried to include a lot of what we had and were given. The people include were of our choice because we knew they could lighten up the music video which is exactly what we needed. We absolutely had fun making the storyboard. The setting for the music video was also super important for the theme. This was also one of the hardest projects we had to do. I don't think we could have done this at all without everyone included. W...

In Hip-hop genre music videos there are generally many varied camera angles. For example low angle shots that show the artists' power among the audience and the viewers. while the camera is showing them at a low angle the artist has the whole frame to themselves showing that it belongs to them giving them the power of the scene. There are also very many close-up shots in hip-hop music videos. Close-up shots could show the importance of the artist to the views by them being the only thing in the frame. in many other hip hop music videos, they implement a crowd dancing as if the crowd is dancing to the new song and enjoying it. Which could get the viewers hype and even like the song even more. This gives the song more credibility to whatever the song may be about. Another thing could be attire and what the artist wear. What the artist wear can show how their personality is. Or can complement the song by wearing what the song might be about. Artists could wear anything they want. They...

Planning Blog

The title of the song my group will be using is "Gods Plan" I think it will fit well with the video. Some props we may use in the video can include hats, fake gold chains, footballs, and sporting equipment. I am trying to get the props to go along with a teenager vibe. I want the aesthetic to look like a few teens playing sports and having fun in the pool while drinking soda. We will be wearing bathing suits with gold chains on and some of us may have hats. This will give the video a beachy/pool vibe. That is exactly what I'm looking for a good vibe, these costumes will definitely produce that. We will be filming the video on November 22nd. After that, we will then edit the video on November 23rd after we get all the files imported on my computer. The location will be at my friend Darrow's house. We will use his pool to our advantage and include him in the video. His pool is the perfect spot for a video of this theme. It will definitely match the vibe I'm looking...

Introduction to the music video project

Image
I will be working on this assignment with my friends Jacob Beach and William Carey. I know them from school and I hang out with on the weekend sometimes. I know that they are trustworthy people so I decided to work with them. Throughout the years I've known them they tend to get good grades and tend to get their work done. I am very happy with my decision making in my group. I also feel they will give my music video a great aesthetic and good hype to my video. Will is a funny guy and he will definitely make my video laughable. Jacob is the tech guy he can get the editing job done and also teach us all about the software. We will be doing "Gods Plan" by Drake. We chose this song because it is a throwback song back to 7th grade. Jacob and I worked on a project similar to this in technology class and we used the same song. I also enjoy listening to this song on my own time because it is very catchy. The song is about how the artist "Drake" can help the poor as muc...

Critical Reflection Questions

1. How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? My product uses conventions by starring famous people on RedBull's commercials. They do this to influence more people into buying the product. Celeberties are perfect for this because a lot of people listen to them and are inspired by them. It represents social groups by the celberties supporting the product. 2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text? My product engages with the audience because the audience loves my product. Everybody loves RedBull and drinks it. Thats why the commercials are all over the place on TV. If Redbull wasn't getting sales would they be able to pay for expensive ads? These commercials are not normally featured on younger kids shows but more adut shows that older people watch. 3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project? My production skills developed so much throughout...

Commercial

Image
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvyCW-btjMQ This was project was a good experience for me. I really learned a lot about ab filming and editing. I hope I get to use the skills and display them in the future. This commercial was also a lot of fun filming with my friends. I got to do what I love to do, be outside. But the thing I'm most happy about is learning editing skills. I will be able to apply these in a job or something like that in the future. This is good because I am looking for something in that category when I grow up. Not only am I proud of learning about editing but I am proud of learning camera angles. Now when I take videos I can apply the angles I know. This can help me when I want to take videos of places I go to around the world. Overall I am very satisfied with the results of this project. I wish I could go back and do this again it was such fun!

What did you do during the editing process? During the editing process, many changes were made. I had to start by editing how long the clips were to fit all of the clips in the video. Then I had to import all of those clips on to my computer. As I did the I combined them all. After that, I searched for uncopyrighted music. When I found the music I imported it into the commercial. I trimmed it up to fit the video and found the right volume it should be at. Then it all was coming together and looking good. I just had to finish up the cut scenes and the audio for the original videos. I adjusted the audio for the original videos to be loud and the background music to be quiet. This should add a nice subtle sound. For the cut scenes, I just left the videos on how they were because the transitions add time. I decided it all looked good so I uploaded it to youtube and to my blog. Uploading the video to youtube took me a while to figure out. But when I got it I uploaded it and posted it....

Filming Blog

Image
During the filming process, I was able to quickly make good camera decisions and camera movements.  while filming I found it super easy to keep everything in frame and focused. I encountered nothing unusual or out of place. everything went perfect. it was really entertaining having to work on a commercial and figure out what angle to use. there were so many angles that were hard to get that we need to be perfect. many angles were easier than others. overall I really think I got the hang of this. with each camera movement we had to be extra careful. we mainly wanted to focus on the gym set and the setting around making it feel more natural. wit the setting being outside it was difficult with the sound because it was super windy and it would mess with the sound on the commercial. everything was super complex while also being easy and fun to do. The sun was also messing up the camera angles. With the messed up camera angles, we had to redo a lot of some shots. We ...
